Design and Theoretical Investigation of an on Chip Two-Dimensional Newton’s Ring-like Plasmonic Sensor for Differentiating the Chirality of Circularly Polarized Lights

In this paper, an on chip two-dimensional Newton’s ring-like plasmonic sensor is designed for differentiating the chirality of circularly polarized lights (CPLS). The structure consists a circular arc slit and array periodic rectangular nano-grooves that are etched into silver film. When illuminated by CPLS with given chirality, surface plasmon polariton waves generated nano-groove will selectively interfere each other in near field, which results two different transmitted light intensity distributions far field. far-field utilized as criteria to qualitatively differentiate concrete incident CPLS. finite difference time domain method theoretically investigate function sensor. simulated indicated proposed has ability visually display information can provide tool conveniently
